Caltech Ventures played a crucial role in the Ghana Cassava Industrialisation and Partnership Project (GCIPP) by contributing to the project’s goal of bridging the gap between cassava production and the high demand for cassava-based products like starch. As part of the consortium, Caltech Ventures provided essential support in processing cassava into high-quality starch for both local and export markets. By working alongside primary processors like Ohumpong Investments Limited and JOSMA Agro-Industries, Caltech Ventures helped to establish a structured market for smallholder farmers, ensuring that their produce reached buyers efficiently. Additionally, they contributed technical expertise in optimizing production processes and ensuring compliance with quality standards, enhancing the overall value chain of cassava production. This collaboration aimed to boost the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through contract farming, improved production practices, and a reliable market for fresh cassava.
